Viking Hiking is a charity event that will be taking place on August 5th 2011 to raise at least £5000 for Help for Heroes and Jeremiahs Journey.

Jeremiah's Journey is a Plymouth based charity that offers support and information to children and their families when someone special has died.
Help for Heroes is a national charity who raise money to offer practical, direct support for heroes.

The task is to complete an alternative to the British 3 peaks challenge. The three peaks that we will be tackling are the highest peaks in Norway, Sweden and Finland.

The mountains we will be climbing total 5904m in height.
NORWAY – GALDHOPPIGEN 2469m
SWEDEN – KEBNEKAISE 2111m
FINLAND – HALTI 1324m

The journey will take us on a 5000 mile round trip starting and ending in our home town of Plymouth. The challenge will see us travel through the countries of Denmark, Sweden, Norway, and Finland

The team consists of:
Husband and Wife duo Graham and Rosie Braithwaite and Russ Selwood who will be climbing the mountains and George Manghan who will be an extra driver, support and base camp manager, whilst we have Nicky McDonald and Samantha Tapson who are co-ordinating the administration and fundraising.

Between now and starting our challenge we will be holding lots of charity events and fundraisers. However big and small any contribution you can make we will be very grateful.
