Rosie Braithwaite is 33 and working part time as a Sales Assistant at Cotswolds Outdoor in Plymouth, as well as completing a part time college course so she can start a BSc in Physiotherapy at Plymouth University this September.
Growing up in Plymouth and being a very keen sports person from an early age right through school, Rosie took part in most sporting activities from Netball to High Jump and 5 A-Side Football to Sailing, enjoying all track events and anything that tested her abilities.
Rosie was first introduced to the Big Outdoors and Rock Climbing at the age of 14 whilst in the Army Cadet Force and then again at 18 whilst completing a Prince’s Trust Personal Development Course, where she also learned the art of fundraising. Since then she has intermittently kept it up in between travelling.
In the summer of 2005 Rosie returned home from living in New Zealand and met Graham where they soon realised they had a lot in common most importantly of all a great love of rock climbing and the mountains. After a few years together they got married and continued their hobby together and have climbed many mountains in Wales, Scotland, Ireland, The Lake District and Austria. Rosie is also currently working towards her Kayaking BCU 2 star & assisting coaching.
Rosie has now recoverd from a knee operation and is still working on getting back to peak fitness to be able to complete this alternative three peaks challenge.
