Nicola McDonald (Nicky) is 25 working full time as a Secretary in Plymouth Devon.
Born and bred in Plymouth Nicky has always been more interested in outdoor pursuits than sitting inside. Taking up horse riding at age 9 Nicky spent most of her childhood and teenage years out on Dartmoor.
Nicky was first introduced to climbing and hiking when she met Rosie at their then place of work. Rosie's enthusiasum for the sports rubbing off on Nicky and bringing out her more daring side. Her first exped in 2007 led her to North Wales where Moel Siabod was her first conquest and she began to fall in love with mountains (especially Tryfan!) Since then there have been many expeds across the UK, including the Lake District, the Breacon Beacons and Scotland. Being astounded by the views and the feeling of reaching a summit Nicky's need for mountain hiking has grown over the years.
To keep up her fitness level Nicky takes part in indoor climbing, and runs several times a week.
Due to a heart problem, sadly (and reluctantly) Nicky has had to pull out of the challenge on Doctors orders. However she is still very much involved with the fundraising and is excited to be part of such a unique event.
